From Classrooms to Living Rooms: Make Financial Literacy a Family Legacy

👏 Utah leads the nation in high school financial education , and the rest of the country should take note. But it’s not just about what students learn in school—it's about what they see at home.

At UNest, we bring financial literacy to life by giving families real tools to save, invest, and plan. Every time a parent opens a UTMA account or sets a goal in our app, they model healthy money habits. That’s education by example.

Financial literacy starts with vocabulary but is rooted in behavior. When your child watches you budget, invest, or explain compound growth, those lessons stick. That’s how you raise confident, financially literate adults.

Utah might be ranked #1 for teaching teens about money—but your home can be the best classroom of all.

You can give children money that can accumulate somewhat tax-free over time... I love them (UTMAs) because they were like, trusts that you didn't need lawyers to create.... I think it's one of the better tax breaks around though. I know hunting for tax breaks may not sound very exciting, but that's how you take care of your family.
